Hello everybody. My name is Kin Wong. I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher at University of California, Riverside. As you may have guessed already, my career interest is in doing experimental research in the area of nanoscience.
My interest in this research area started long time ago when I still was an undergraduate student at an university in Sweden, Chalmers University of Technology. I was fortunate to have been part of a prominent research group under the direction of Professor Bengt Kasemo. After receiving my MSc degree in Engineering Physics, I stayed within the group for another year before leaving for a PhD program in USA. It was during these early years the foundation for my research career were built, and my interest in science on the nanometer scale developed.
As a student at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, I met Professor Vitaly Kresin, who had an exciting lab studying nanometer particles. I spent most of my time in his lab to further nurture my interest in nanometer science. I learned a lot working in the lab, by the time I was awarded a PhD degree, I felt I had matured a lot as a researcher and I was ready to take on bigger challenges.
Immediately after my graduation, I joined professor Ludwig Bartels group at University of California, Riverside as a postdoctoral researcher. Here, I got the bigger challenges I was looking for. Everyday I get chance to work on cutting edge research projects, some days are better than others, but overall we are making respectable progress.
I made this web site mainly for the purpose of keeping my research record in one convenient and easily accessible location. This is an excellent way of showcasing my projects for friends and colleagues. I have tried to present the material in such a way that it would be accessible for any lay person. However, I do hope that all of you, whether you're an expert scientist or an enthusiastic amateur, do find this web site informative and entertaining.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll enjoy your stay.
P.S. Don't hesitate to leave some comments on the website or you can send me an E-mail. It's always nice to receive feedback from the visitors |
